Oct 11th, 2003 - AHT Fundraiser, Austin
Om-Kara's debut performance was for a charity fundraiser Dusshera mela for the Austin Hindu Temple project. This was a time when Om-Kara had only 5 full time performers. The concert was a success, especially the final medley which got the kids dancing near the stage and the rest of the crowd roaring in approval!
Nov 22nd, 2003 - TCA Tamil Music Festival, Austin
The next show at The University of Texas for the Tamil Cultural Association. By this time Om-Kara had matured into a full fledged melody engine that surpassed all customer & performer expectations. A performance of an hour saw Om-Kara for the first time showcase a complete instrumental ensemble. Having grown from 5 to 14 the band was starting to show glimpses of what it was capable of.
Jan 10th, 2004 - Debut Recording, Austin
With the coming of 2004, Om-Kara experimented with some recording. We came up with our first couple of recordings at our music specialist, Adith's, own amateur recording studio. For sample recordings click on the following links.

Jan 31st, 2004 - TCA Pongal Show, Austin
This show heralded the coming of age of the band. The band displayed maturity and confidence in rendering complicated instrumental and vocal passages with gusto. There was a sizeable crowd of around 200 and roars of approval greeted not only the start and end of each song but every complex portion that was performed with ease. The 2 hour performance was proclaimed a success by all that had attended.

Feb 15th, 2004 - BKM Show, Houston
Om-Kara was invited to perform in houston and for the first time, the band travelled to perform in a new setting. The show was the longest that had been done yet and lasted almost three and half hours and had 21 songs in it. Please visit the photo album for snaps of this show.
May 8th, 2004 - Meenakshi Temple Show, Houston
Om-Kara , by this time registered as Om-Kara Inc., performed in houston again for Meenakshi Temple, Pearland, on the occasion of their annual fund-raiser dinner. The show was our hitherto biggest event and was well received. The repertoire of 26 songs was a good mix of hindi movie songs, south-indian music, fusion pieces, patriotic and devotional songs. May 23rd, 2004 - Buddha Temple Show, Austin
Om-Kara performed a 20 minute "mini-show" on the occassion of Buddha's birthday. The show went well with the eclectic audience even though performed in languages alien to them.
July 10th, 2004 - Austin Tamil Sangam Show, Austin
It was a night on which Austinites danced to the tune of Om-Kara . Om-Kara performed in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu to regale the enthusiastic multi-lingual crowd with their songs. By the end of the show the audience was on its feet and the party was on...
July 11th, 2004 - Austin Hindu Temple Fund Raiser, Austin
Om-Kara performed for the Austin Hindu Temple along with two other distinguished groups - Umoya (An african drum group) and Oliver Rajamani. The show was a fundraiser for the temple coming up in Austin.

January 26th, 2005 - Republic day celebrations, Houston
Om-Kara performed a 2 hour multi-lingual show at the stafford center. The show went well even though there were some technical glitches with sound.
February 19th, 2005 - ATS Pongal Show, Austin
Om-Kara performed some favorite tamil numbers on the day to regale the crowd. Some popular telugu and hindi songs were also performed on the day. This 2 hour show featured new talent and new features (like the harmony synthesizer) and was well received.
November 5th, 2005 - Jhalak Show, Austin
Om-kara performed 2 songs for this show in front of an estimate audience of 2000-3000 at the UT tower. The show was short but well received by the predominantly UT crowd. It was a return of sorts for Om-kara after a long slumber. The show also featured the debut for Kaushik and Karthik on the guitars and Prakash on the drums.
November 19th, 2005 - HTCT show, Temple
A 2 hour show featuring 16 songs selected from the latest Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movies was presented on the occassion of the inauguration of the auditorium for the temple at Temple, Texas. An audience of around 300 danced to the songs all evening in a show that was the best yet by Om-Kara.
August 27th, 2006 - Radio Interview, KOOP 91.7 fm, Austin, TX
Four members from the Om-kara team were guests on the one-hour weekly radio show hosted by Nelin Hudani of KOOP 91.7 fm in Austin, TX. The show is called "Surabhi" and is from 4-5pm on Sundays. Home recordings of the band were aired and the show was a great success. Two pairs of complimentary tickets were given away during the show.
Future
Om-Kara is looking towards the future with anticipation and eagerness. With the talent and commitment of it's members, the sky is the limit!
